What are Plugins?
And how do I plug 'em in?
Usually at this point the pro-forma approach of other authors is to tell you
that you need to download a Real Audio Player from www.realaudio.com.
We'd like to break with that tradition. You probably don't need to download a
RealAudio Player because, if you've already downloaded a Netscape or
Microsoft browser chances are you've already got one somewhere lurking on your
computer. Finding that one however might prove the greater challenge if your Hard
Disc is anything like ours. We'll talk among ourselves for five minutes while you
find it. If you couldn't find it and you don't mind a ten minute wait - then by all
means download another. RealPlayer Plus G2 is the current model - but as these
upgrade rapidly it could be something more current by the time I get this info uploaded.
Note, before you visit their site, that you don't need a commercial package - just
the free reader for now will do fine. You might
have to shop around their site a little to locate the free version.
First we'll tell you how to configure your browser so it can recognise real audio
when it stumbles on it - then we'll tell you how to embed a real audio command for
streaming audio - okay? This is how you configure your browser ...
